Great addition to the Julington Creek area. Casual atmosphere is good for families, food is reasonably priced, and they have an excellent selection of draft beers. Staff is mostly teenagers so service can be spotty at times, but typical for this type of restaurant. We have been several times and have always enjoyed it. Can't wait for the weather to warm up so we can enjoy the outdoor seating.

Wow, nickel and die city. They charge you for taco sauce. hey charge you for dressing. If you think that is fair enough, they do not tell you. Tables too close together. Decent beer list. Food weird but ok. I will not be back. I hope they do not charge for giving my opinion! Ouch!

We tried this place for lunch on Saturday, July 20. The decor is nice, the server was really friendly and hospitiable and he kept my dink glasses full. I tried the Spicy Shrimp pizza and my wife had the signature Saucy Taco with filet for the protein. Loved the pizza as it was ona very thin crust that resembled a fried flat flour tottilla vs. flat bread. There was a shrimp in every bite and the spice level was just right for me.

First time there waited 10 minutes before someone waited on us. Took 45 minutes to have food served. Wasn't worth the wait. Portion size was good but the fish was way overcooked. We decided to give them a second try and ended up with the same results. This time at the 10 minute mark with no service we got up and left. Never going back!

Ditch the boxed taco shells! Not hard to fry up some corn shells in house and would exponentially improve the food and value. It's the only part of the tacos I had that was disappointing. They have screwed up my order many times, but that doesn't bother me as a one off every now and then.

I had the shrimp tacos and they were amazing. Had a bite of the fish, they were good as well. Great food!

Sometimes you eat in a place and something is so delicious that everything else about the place fades away and all you can think of is how much you love their chips and guacamole.

Just tried Saucy Taco for the first time yesterday. I was impressed. I got The Saucy Taco and my hubby got the Yellowfin Tuna Taco, and we got the guac to share. It was all very good. Our waitress was great, and helped pick out some yummy beers to try. Everything seamed very fresh and the place has a nice atmosphere the only thing that would make it better is if it were one the beach in Mexico!!

Very nice, laid back atmosphere! We had the saucy tacos (filet mignon) and the fish tacos. Both delicious!! There was live music, so a little loud, but the guy was really good! Only con...we weren't crazy about the chips (very thick/greasy), but the salsa was good and obviously fresh! We will def be back. Husband said the Banana Bread Beer was awesome!

I had the opportunity to stop in to this rocking taco shop while visiting family. Wow! If this place was up here in NY, I would eat there every week. An awesome variety of tacos and beers. When I say variety, I mean it. You won't find too many of your traditional tacos here (e.g., when was the last time you had a corned beef and cabbage taco?) Novelty aside, the food was fantastic. Tasty and well presented. I will be stopping by every time I'm in town.

Great food! The Mexican pizzas are gigantic and the saucy taco meal was awesome. Excellent beer selection.

Very disappointed in the food. Dish that was called hot and spicy was bland. My two beer choices(my favorites) were both out. I asked the bartender to give me a sample of a similar IPA was very bland not hoppy brew I expected. This restaurant wouldn't last a week in California

We walked in at 7pm on a Friday night, and it was understandably busy. We were told there would be a 30-45 minute wait. We proceeded to the bar to get some drinks while we waited. Out if Guinness? What? OK... Give me a minute to look and decide what I want, and that was the last time I had the bartenders attention. The bartenders friend behind me got a beer though. Finally we got sat. 20 minutes until a server came by, appetizer 20 minutes, entrees another 20 so 1 hour and 45 minutes since we arrived to finally eating. How disappointed I was, I got the Shrimp Tacos spicy, spicy but not much flavor. Black beans tasted like canned beans with hot sauce, and white rice with cilantro. My wife got the Taco Salad with chicken. I assumed that chicken meant chicken breast but I was wrong, dark meat. And a seasoned avocado = 1/4 avocado marinated in lime juice, and no seasoning. Babacoa super dry. There are plenty of Mexican restaurants in Jacksonville that do it with better quality at competitive prices. And loud, I could not hear the people across the table before the live music started.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
